CFS's Richard Briscoe Recognized for Many Contributions to East Tampa Community

Congratulations to CFS's Richard Briscoe, who was recently recognized for his work with the East Tampa Community Revitalization Partnership (ETCRP). Evangeline Best, ETCRP Chairperson awarded Dr. Briscoe a certificate of appreciation for the “dedication of his generous time, limitless talents and invaluable resources admirably given.” The ETCRP is a coalition of East Tampa community organizations, other stakeholders and citizens that have joined together to provide leadership and oversight of the Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) and Tax Increment Fund (TIF) in transforming East Tampa into a neighborhood of vibrant residential, commercial, social and cultural life through the implementation of the East Tampa Community Redevelopment Plan.

Since 1992, Dr. Briscoe has conducted research, training and technical assistance in East Tampa to improve outcomes for ethnic minority children and families. He has played a large role in supporting the university’s effort to foster collaborative research partnerships with schools and community agencies in order to transfer research into practice.
