She will serve as chair of ASHA's Clinical Research, Implementation Science, and Evidence-Based Practice committee from January 2020 to December 2022.
This endowed award was created by Dr. Harold Berkman and his wife, Muriel to support the academic endeavors of student veterans at USF. Dr. Harold Berkman served as a Staff Sergeant in World War II earning a Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman’s Badge at the Battle of the Bulge. Dr. Karen Berkman, daughter of Harold and Muriel Berkman, serves as the Executive Director for the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at USF.
During June 2019, CFS faculty Dr. Rose Iovannone was a major contributor at the Queensland Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) conference held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in South Brisbane, Australia.

This award is given to an early career practitioner whose work in positive behavior support demonstrates outstanding achievements in mentorship, service, and commitment to the application of positive behavior support (PBS) principles and technology in the field.
She was presented the award at the USF Hispanic Heritage Celebration September 29 at the USF Marshall Center.
