This evaluation is a culmination of several efforts in Sarasota County over the past two decades that have set the stage for a large-scale initiative for understanding and improving mental health care among children, youth, and young adults in the county.

Dr. Liz Perkins, FCIC's Associate Director is the current president of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. During AAIDD's national conference, she gave her presidential address on the topic of "Reaffirming Diversity and Inclusion." Now published in one of the three AAIDD Journals, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, her address shares how her personal and professional experiences have shaped her views regarding inclusion.

This award is given to an early career practitioner whose work in positive behavior support demonstrates outstanding achievements in mentorship, service, and commitment to the application of positive behavior support (PBS) principles and technology in the field.
She was presented the award at the USF Hispanic Heritage Celebration September 29 at the USF Marshall Center.
