FCIC Trainees Awarded Travel and Conference Funds to Enhance their Interdisciplinary Training
Congratulations to three trainees from the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities who have been awarded travel and conference funds to enhance their interdisciplinary training.
- Danielle Ardizzone will be attending the annual National Training Institute (NTI): Addressing Challenging Behavior Conference in April 2014. As an employee of a Head Start preschool in South Dakota, she hopes to gain knowledge to revise current procedures regarding behavior management methods, behavioral interventions and preventative strategies.
- Sindy Sanchez will present at the Association for Behavior Analysis International Conference in May 2014. She will chair and present a the symposium “Applications of ABA for Decreasing Problem Behavior of Students in the Classroom”. Sindy will also conduct a presentation on “Evaluating Check-In Check-Out with Peer Tutors for Children with Attention Maintained Problem Behavior”.
- Anna Garcia will also present at the Association for Behavior Analysis International Conference in May 2014. She will be presenting with Dr. Mario Hernandez and Dr. Timothy Weil on “The Verbal Aspects of Culture: Rules, Values, Mores”. She will also participate in a symposium titled “The Roles of Cultural Competency, Cultural Values, and Verbal Behavior in Behavior-Analysis Service Delivery,” in which two presentations from her research will be given.
