AAIDD Elects Dr. Elizabeth Perkins to Board of Directors

Elizabeth Perkins, PhD, RNMHCongratulations to Research Assistant Professor Dr. Elizabeth Perkins, who has recently been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. AAIDD is the world’s oldest and largest professional organization in the field of intellectual disability. Since 1876, AAIDD has been providing worldwide leadership to its membership in the United States and 55 other countries.

Dr. Perkins comments, “I am honored to have been elected by my peers and thrilled to have the opportunity to continue my professional service with AAIDD in this new role!”

Dr. Perkins will serve a 4 year term as Member-at-Large beginning July 1, 2012. Dr. Perkins is currently the President of AAIDD’s Gerontology Division, and completes a 4 year period of service in that role at AAIDD’s annual conference in June.
