Just Published: Behavior Modification: Principles and Procedures, 5th Edition

Typically, I see a bimodal distribution in BMod, with as many students falling at the D level as the A/B. This semester, the majority of the class fell in the A/B range. On the course evaluation, students consistently pointed out that the text, class exercises, and detailed feedback on writing assignments were all tremendously helpful in mastering the material.

A fifth edition of Professor Raymond Miltenberger's textbook has been published. Behavior Modification: Principles and Procedures, 5th Edition uses the principles of behavior modification to teach the procedures of behavior modification, illustrating them with key case studies and examples.

Its precise, step-by-step approach includes practical information on the technologies used to measure and record behavior changes. The book also provides numerous opportunities for students to practice, including practice tests, application and misapplication exercises, and three quizzes at the end of every chapter.

This edition has been updated throughout with recent references.

Dr. Miltenberger is Director of the Applied Behavior Analysis Program at the University of South Florida after spending many years at North Dakota State University. He is a board certified behavior analyst. He has taught behavior modification and behavior therapy to undergraduate and graduate students. He conducts applied behavior analysis research with his students and publishes widely in the areas of sports and fitness, functional assessment and treatment of behavioral disorders, and self-protection skills training.
