Fall Courses: Graduate Certificate Program Addresses the Growing Need for Improved Services in the Behavioral Health Field

Because of increased demand for psychological services in schools, hospitals, social service agencies, mental health centers, substance abuse treatment clinics, consulting firms, and private companies, the employment growth in this area is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations through 2016.

The USF Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Planning, Evaluation & Accountability program addresses the current shortage of individuals capable of evaluating the organization, financing, delivery, and outcomes of mental health and substance abuse services located in a variety of settings.

Designed for professionals in mental health, human services, public health, education, addiction services, and related behavioral health fields, this 12-credit program provides in-depth training in a broad range of techniques and strategies for improving outcomes, and for applying findings to policy development for mental health and substance abuse services.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a field related to health and/or human services with a minimum 3.0 GPA, or be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at a regionally accredited institution in a related field. Courses in this graduate certificate program may also earn credit in other graduate programs. Additional graduate degree options are available.
