Dr. Trina Spencer is Appointed Chair of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association Committee

Congratulations to Dr. Trina Spencer who was recently appointed to be the chair of the Clinical Research, Implementation Science, and Evidence-Based Practice committee for the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Her service to ASHA and the field of communication science will begin January 2020 and end December 2022.

ASHA is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for 204,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language, and hearing scientists; audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel; and students.

As the chair of this national committee, Dr. Spencer will also be a member of the ASHA Journal’s Board, which is charged with approving editors and editorial boards for ASHA’s five scholarly journals, monitoring their effectiveness, and assessing the evolving needs and opportunities for curating, disseminating, and translating knowledge to practice.

“I am extremely excited about this opportunity because clinical research, implementation science, and EBP are exactly in my wheelhouse and I believe I will be able to have a meaningful impact in this service capacity,” said Dr. Spencer.
