CFS's Dr. Heather Peshak George to Provide Keynote Address at National Leadership Forum on School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support

Dr. Heather Peshak GeorgeCFS's Dr. Heather Peshak George is providing the invited keynote address at the National School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (SWPBIS) Leadership Forum in Chicago, IL on October 4-5, 2018.  Her keynote is titled “Building District Capacity to Systematically Improve Outcomes for All.” 

SWPBIS improves social, emotional and academic outcomes for all students, including students with disabilities and students from underrepresented groups.

This years' forum, PBIS: Celebrating Positive & Safe Learning Environments has over 3000 registered participants, and is sponsored by the National OSEP Technical Assistance Center on PBIS and Midwest PBIS. The Forum is organized for school, state, district, or regional leadership teams adopting and implementing school-wide PBIS. Over 200 sessions are organized by strands that support initial through advanced implementation in elementary, middle, and high schools as well as juvenile justice, alternative education settings, and mental health facilities. 

In addition to Dr. Peshak George's keynote address, several CFS faculty within the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities are serving as lead presenters and/or exemplars across sessions related to PBIS. They include Dr. Lauren Evanovich, Dr. Brian Gaunt, Dr. Lise Fox, Dr. Rose Iovannone, Dr. Don Kincaid, Dr. Stephanie Martinez, Dr. Devon Minch, Cat Raulerson, Ed.S., Dr. Therese Sandomierski, Rebecca Webster, M.Ed., and Dr. Anna Winneker.
