USF's Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Practicum Fair A Great Success!

Many thanks to each of the practicum sites who attended the Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Field Placement Fair February 22. What a great turnout!

Field training is a critical component in the professional preparation of rehabilitation and mental health counselors. Students are placed in a variety of rehabilitation and mental health agency settings consistent with their professional interests and training needs. Working directly with consumers is often the most valuable and rewarding professional experience students have in their graduate program. Field experiences provide students with an opportunity to practice concepts and skills learned in the classroom, and to see how different rehabilitation and related human service agencies and programs function.

"We were thrilled with the participation in the practicum fair," said Dr. Amanda DePippo, RMHC Instructor and Director of Field Placement. "Our students loved having the many sites here to network with and have their questions answered. We value these partnerships!"
