Florida Center for Inclusive Communities Receives Award for Favorite Special Needs Regional Resource

ReadersChoiceAwardThe Florida Center for Inclusive Communities (FCIC) was announced as the winner of the About.com 2013 Readers' Choice Award Winner for Favorite Special-Needs Regional Resource. Voting for the 5 nominated finalists took place from February 21 until March 19.

FCIC's Associate Director - Dr. Liz Perkins commented, "We are thrilled that so many people voted for us. FCIC undertakes an impressive range of projects and programs but it is a challenge to present all that information on a website. Last year the website was redesigned to make it more visually appealing and easier to navigate. This award is a clear indication that FCIC's website disseminates resources, products, and information about the centers activities in a very user-friendly manner!"

FCIC at the University of South Florida was established in October 2005 through a University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service grant award from the Administration on Developmental Disabilities. Through leadership in research and evaluation, theory, policy, capacity building, and practice, the FCIC is committed to developing a range of supports and services in the areas of Community Supports, Early Childhood, Transition, Education, Employment, Health, and Interdisciplinary Training.
