For Third Year In-a-Row, Janet Reyes Receives TRAIN® Nomination

Janet ReyesCongratulations to Janet Reyes, who for three years in a row has been nominated for the 2011 TRAIN® award. The 3rd Annual TRAIN® Awards Luncheon was held October 5, 2011, where Janet was described as "an incredible source of information and a tremendous resource."

The primary focus of The Research Administration Improvement Network, or TRAIN®, is to build the research support infrastructure by enhancing the professional competencies of those who contribute to the research enterprise, implementing training and education, improving business processes and reporting, and enhancing communication within the research community.

"I am proud to be an active member of TRAIN® and will continue working toward supporting and educating faculty and research administrators and maintaining USF as a world class research university," said Janet.

As the Unit Research Administrator for the Administration & Dissemination, Policy and TREAD divisions in the Department of Child and Family Studies, Janet's main responsibilities are pre-award grant proposal and submission as well as post-award contract renegotiations, modifications and extensions. (Not an easy task, as the department had 53 active federal and non-federal grants totalling $11,275,250 in funding and submitted $21,594,098 in total proposals in Fiscal Year 2010.)

"Through TRAIN®, I have had the opportunity to meet and learn from truly talented and knowledgeable experts from all areas of the university. TRAIN is the epitome of the idea of ResearchOne: One University, One Community, One Vision."
