CFS's Dr. Mary Armstrong is Elected to Serve as Director at Large of the American Orthopsychiatric Association

Congratulations to CFS's Dr. Mary Armstrong, who was elected to serve as director at large of the American Orthopsychiatric Association ("Ortho"), an 80-year old membership association of mental health professionals concerned with mental health and social justice. Ortho provides a common ground for collaborative study, research, and knowledge exchange among individuals from a variety of disciplines engaged in preventive, treatment, and advocacy approaches to mental health. 0ne of the important and necessary functions of the American Orthopsychiatric Association is to convey the results of clinical research in the mental health field to professional personnel qualified to supplement them and to apply them.

Dr. Armstrong has over twenty-five years of experience in children’s behavioral health, public sector managed care, children’s health insurance, child welfare services, specializing in state and local government organizational structures, program development and evaluation, policy analysis, and consultation.

She currently is Director of the CFS Division of State and Local Support, and responsible for the administration of the Division of including the direction of evaluation and research activities, and specialized consultation, training, and technical assistance to public sector entities nationally and in Florida.
