Dr. Mario Hernandez Invited to Participate on a National Project Advisory Committee

Dr. Mario HernandezCongratulations to Dr. Mario Hernandez who has been invited to participate on a National Project Advisory Committee (NPAC) for the Office of Minority Health (OMH) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The committee will advise and provide input for the development and implementation of a new e-learning program targeting behavioral health providers and stakeholders.

The e-learning program stems from the increased recognition of the importance of improved access to quality behavioral health services and care. The program will enable providers, staff, and other behavioral health stakeholders to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services at every point of contact.

As a member of the NPAC, Dr. Hernandez will attend a series of meetings over the next two years to help provide input in establishing the priorities and content of the e-learning initiative. NPAC members will contribute to the development of the e-learning program, including reviewing pilot and field test findings, suggesting revisions to the content and online format, and participating in the dissemination, marketing, and evaluation of the completed program.
